HE Khalaf Abdulla Rahma Al Hammadi

Director General of the Abu Dhabi Pension Fund

HE Khalaf Abdulla Rahma Al Hammadi has over 25 years of executive management experience in government and semi-government sectors, in addition to the oil sector.

He holds the position of the Director General of Abu Dhabi Pension Fund since 2012. He is mandated with the identification of strategic management plans for the Fund; leading the overall management to identify the potential opportunities and driving the initiatives for the efficient utilization of resources.

He actively participated in many executive profile committees at the government level. His contributions as a board member in Al Hilal Bank, National Health Insurance Company-Daman, Social Care & Minors Affairs Foundation and ADS Securities are notable. He is also a member of the Fund’s board level committees, namely; pension committee and investment committee.

Moreover, Khalaf Al Hammadi is widely known of supporting the initiatives to review and reform pensions policy in Abu Dhabi aiming to achieve the financial sustainability and long term strategic objectives of the Emirate.

Yousif Al Ali

Executive Director, Masdar Clean Energy

In his capacity as the Acting Executive Director of Masdar Clean Energy, Yousif Al Ali brings over 15 years of experience in the renewable and petrochemical industries.

He is responsible for Masdar Clean Energy’s strategic growth and performance excellence in areas of investment, green field development and operations for large-scale renewable energy projects. He is also responsible for Energy Services, a team offering full turn-key supply and demand side energy management solutions to clients through energy performance contracting and operations and maintenance services.

In addition to his role at Masdar, Mr. Al Ali serves as the Chairman of Shams Power Company, a joint venture between Masdar (51%) , Abu Dhabi Pension Fund (21%) and Total (20%) managing the operational activities of the 100MW Shams 1 Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plant and Chairman of WBEG TESLA Wind BV. In addition he sits on the boards of Torresol Energy Investments S.A, Jordan Wind Power Company (JWPC), Krnovo Green Energy (KGE), Shuaa Energy 2 PSC and Baynouna Solar Energy PSC.

Mr. Al Ali joined Masdar in early 2007, and was later seconded as a project manager Torresol Energy in Spain, to support the delivery of three CSP plants: Gemasolar, Valle 1 and Valle 2, which have a total combined capacity of 120MW. He was then seconded to Shams Power Company, and led the successful delivery of the 100MW CSP plant from origination to operations. He also served as Director of Business Growth with the Clean Energy division where he played an instrumental role in the establishment of the bidding team, before being appointed its Executive Director.

Prior to joining Masdar, Mr. Al Ali held the position of Plant Engineer at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).

Mr. Al Ali holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the IE Business School in Madrid, a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from UAE University and is also a Certified Project Management Professional.

Mohammad A. El-Ramahi

Director of Asset Management and Technical Services, Masdar Clean Energy

Born in Amman, Jordan in 1971. An engineer by profession; Graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from University of Science and Technology in June 1993. Accredited Masters of Science (MSc) degree in Water Engineering, from London University, UK in June 2005.

Chartered Water & Environmental Manager, Chartered Environmentalist, member of the Chartered Institution of Water & Environmental Management, United Kingdom, Professional Engineer, member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Project Management Professional, member of the Project Management Institution.

Joined Masdar on 1 August 2011. Masdar is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Government-owned Mubadala Development Company, a catalyst for the economic diversification of the Emirate.

Currently the Director, Asset Management, and Technical Services, acting as the focal point of stakeholder management and interface with all utilities and service providers, leading all Masdar’s initiatives related to water and sustainability and playing a key role in shaping governance and regulatory frameworks for the energy sector in Abu Dhabi and UAE, aligning with governments policies in relation to energy mix portfolio.

Also, member of the board of Shams-1 Power Company, one of the world’s largest concentrated solar power (CSP) projects and the first of its kind in the Middle East. With a capacity of (100MW) and capital investment exceeding (USD 600 million), a joint venture between Masdar (51%), and French Total (20%) and Abu Dhabi Retirement Pensions and Benefits Fund (29%), Shams-1 is the first utility scale commercial solar power project in the Middle East. Shams-1 has been operational since March 2013.

He is also a board member in Dudgeon Offshore Wind Limited. Dudgeon offshore wind farm is a (£1.5 billion) project located 20 miles off the coast of the seaside town of Cromer in North Norfol in the UK. Construction of this (402 MW) offshore wind farm has commenced since late 2012, and it is now scheduled to be completed and fully commissioned by late 2017. The joint venture company, Dudgeon Offshore Wind Limited, is owned by Statoil, Masdar and China Resources.

In addition he is a board member in Hywind Scotland Wind Park. A JV between Masdar and Statoil, which will develop the first floating wind farm off the Scottish coast. The park will be located near Buchan Deep, approximately. 25-30 km off the coast of Peterhead in Aberdeenshire. The (30 MW) project will consist of five, 6 MW floating turbines operating in waters exceeding 100m depth.

Prior to Masdar, was working with Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority ‘ADWEA’, for almost 14 years, as part of the senior management of Abu Dhabi Distribution Company ‘ADDC’. Last two positions were; Director of Network Services, in charge of the five main business core activities in the company (Power Services Division, Water Services Division, Remote Areas Division, Laboratories Department and Construction Division), then the Executive Director of Asset Management.

Fawaz Hadi Salem Ali Al Muharrami

Director of Delivery, Bids and Supply Chain, Masdar Clean Energy

Fawaz Hadi Salem Ali Al Muharrami is the Director, Delivery, Bids and Supply Chain in Masdar’s Clean Energy unit, a commercial-scale, renewable energy developer and investor that is building some of the world’s most sophisticated clean-energy projects.

Mr. Al Muharrami is responsible for ensuring the delivery of all projects in this business unit by providing the necessary resources and employing project management tools and processes. .

Mr. Al Muharrami joined Masdar in 2009 as an engineering manager at Hydrogen Power Abu Dhabi. Subsequently, he managed delivery of the Port Victoria Wind Power Project, Masdar’s 6MW wind farm in the Seychelles, launched in June 2013. Additionally, he has worked closely in securing the 117MW Tafila wind farm in Jordan, and the first large-scale wind farm in the Gulf Cooperation Council, a 50-megawatt wind farm in the Sultanate of Oman. he is also serving as the Executive Managing Director of the third phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, an 800MW project won by a Masdar-led consortium that set a new world record for the lowest-cost solar power in June 2016.

Mr. Al Muharrami also serves as a board member of the JWPC project company in Jordan, Dumat Al Jandal wind project in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Sharjah Waste to Energy project. He served on number of advisory committee for projects like the 402MW Dudgeon offshore wind farm in the UK and the ESI Carbon Capture project in Abu Dhabi.

Before joining Masdar, Mr. Al Muharrami worked for nine years in the oil and gas industry. He was a project leader at the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO), where he developed, planned, and conducted feasibility studies for developing production facilities for a number of new offshore oil fields. He also served as senior process engineer in the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), and worked on numerous projects for clients such as the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGCL) of India and Iran Oil Company (IOC), among others.

Mr. Al Muharrami holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management from the Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi, where he earned the distinction with highest honor. He also holds a Higher Diploma in Chemical Engineering with distinction.
